SmallPNG is an independent file-tools project focused on making common image and PDF tasks direct, clear and easy to complete.

What SmallPNG does

SmallPNG provides focused tools for image conversion, image file-size changes, exact upload limits and PDF creation. Current tools include JFIF to JPG, image compression and JPG/JPEG to PDF.

How processing works

SmallPNG uses browser-local processing whenever a task can be completed reliably on the user’s device. Current compression, JFIF to JPG and JPG to PDF workflows run in the browser. If a future tool requires server-side processing, that tool must explain it clearly instead of inheriting a blanket “never upload” claim.

How new tools are chosen

New tools are added when they solve a clear file task and can be implemented with acceptable quality. SmallPNG does not create empty converter pages simply to increase page count.
